Good Samaritan Industries welcomes the decision of the Australian Government to establish a Royal Commission into preventing, and better protecting, people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation in the future and pledges to cooperate fully and openly.
GSI’s commitment to delivering safe, high quality services and supports has been at the centre of our organisation since its inception in 1958. We are determined to address whatever issues and challenges that may emerge for us in order to meet the needs of people with disability who we support. We also look forward to contributing to the discussion on best practice and innovative models of preventing, reporting, investigating or responding to violence against, and abuse, neglect or exploitation of, people with disability.
During the conduct of the Royal Commission, GSI will continue to strive to maintain open communication with clients, service users and their families and to support staff and volunteers.
We will engage with the Royal Commission to contribute on what can be done to promote a more inclusive society that supports the independence of people with disability and their right to live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
